Easy on the Eye

Taken at Daktari Bush School and Wildlife Orphanage, South Africa

“Easy” is a rescued orphaned Grey Duiker who has been raised by staff and volunteers of Daktari. In similar circumstances, other antelope that have been raised head off into the wild and then return to visit every so often so we can look forward to the same happening with this little one as well.

Duikers are easily recognised by their small size, little mohawks and preorbital glands (the slits in front of their eyes.) These glands are used to mark territory and they will actually poke a stick or branch inside them to coat it in a scented secretion.
