Taken at The Greater Makalali Private Game Reserve, South Africa
I was please when I returned for a few weeks of work at Siyafunda Wildlife and Conservation that the Garonga Clan of Spotted Hyaena had revealed themselves at a known densite. This clan is known to be particularly ellusive so news of the cubs excited me. This particular occassion we sat at the den for a number of hours watching the cubs play while the “babysitter” slept on the other side of the road (to get a little space from the boisterous little ones we could only assume!) The cub in the photo was smaller than the rest so got tired sooner than it’s older den-mates, resting right in front of the game viewer on the dusty road.
