A Tanzanian Experience

Caught in the midst of the migration I managed to get this special shot from behind the herd.

To start Afrography off in some style, our editor has submitted this photograph titled ‘An endless journey’.

Read below for the story:

” This summer I was on holiday in the Serengeti, an amazing place at the best of times. At this time of year though, every year, an amazing event takes place, the Wildebeest migration. Although the migration takes place throughout the year, covering a vast area of land, this time of year is particularly special due to its proximity with the Mara river. There are chances to see herds of up to 10,000 strong full of ambition to cross this huge river. Crocodiles will come and go and feed as they pass, loved ones are lost and only the fittest (or the lucky) survive. My personal experience was more than I could ever have hoped for seeing 3 crossing over 2 days. This photo was taken about 10 minutes after the crossing, filled with pride and confidence the herd migrated casually past our vehicle and across the plane. A very special experience.”
